The Fox Valley Astronomical Society, which was formed in 1944, provides services for the Fox Valley in Northern Illinois. Most of our members reside in the Fox Valley (Elgin, St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, North Aurora, etc) although we have members from many miles away, too.
The Public is invited to join us for our monthly meetings and our public star parties.
We also support public outreach activities.
We assist people with all levels of knowledge in astronomy - from novices who want to learn which binoculars or telescope is right for them, through someone who already owns a telescope and wants to maximize their visual experience. We have experienced observers, telescope makers, and astro-photographers.
All age levels are welcome, from supervised children through retired individuals.
